Sadly I found this article too late to comment – otherwise I would have added that one of the things that drives me crazy about women – is that many of us don’t know how to compete with each other in a healthy way.

Competition between women often ends up in bitching, complaining, backstabbing and damaged friendships (just watch an episode of Next Top Model!). I believe this is because we don’t get to practice competing against each other enough growing up. Competition is seen as unfeminine… Whereas for men it seems growing up is ALL about competing with each other. And whilst I wouldn’t want to reach that extreme – at least they get to let all their energy and passion loose, try their hardest and then despite competing hard with each other – still be friends afterwards… I’m sure there are other women out there (like me) who have held themselves back to avoid upsetting others?

So, I know I know, I’m supposed to be recuperating from surgery. And I am – honest! BUT I spotted this news article online – and I was so STUNNED that I needed to share my horror with you guys. So, please let me know what you think by commenting beneath this posting!

It reminds me how lucky we are and how much women’s rights still need to be fought for…

ARTICLE EXTRACT: “With the click of your mouse, you can grope her and lift her skirt. Then you can follow her aboard the train, assaulting her sister and her mother. As you continue to play, “friends” join in and in a series of graphic, interactive scenes, you can corner the women, rape them again and again.”

This is a videogame created in Japan – but because of the internet the game became available globally before being withdrawn. Sadly it is still available from underground sources. See the CNN news article here.

I keep picturing a teenage boy playing this game, then going to the subway – perhaps with his friends – and assaulting a girl for real… Remember that the brain can’t tell the difference between something real and something vividly imagined – think how you feel after waking from some dreams!

Mostly 20 minute informative talks on a huge range of subjects from many inspiring people of today.

So, I found this recently by Eve Ensler - Embrace Your Inner Girl. It’s a great fit with what I would love to achieve with RebelWomen: Strong, powerful, sensitive women – who aren’t afraid to base decisions and their lives on intuition and feelings and take this energy into the world!

I think we need more feminine energy in government, corporations, society, the world. We need more compassion, more long-term/far-sighted thinking and more seeing options and shades of grey. Both men AND women have been taught that our feelings and compassion are weak, whereas it’s precisely these qualities that empower us to be PASSIONATE, STRONG and SUCCESSFUL…

So, watch this TED talk by Eve Ensler – famous for her Vagina Monologues Embrace Your Inner Girl and let us know what you think by leaving a comment below!

PS. I wonder what Ms Ensler would think of the “Muff Maintenance Products” I posted about recently…
